Premiere of a new production of Giuseppe Verdi’s opera “Un ballo in maschera” (A Masked Ball). The production is directed by Nikolaus Habjan, with Michele Mariotti serving as conductor.
This production was created in collaboration with the Dutch National Opera and restores the action to its original historical context—18th-century Sweden and King Gustav III—replacing the censored American version set in Boston.

Star-studded cast: Gustav III (King of Sweden): Freddie De Tommaso; Amelia: Marina Rebeka; Count Anckarström: Luca Salsi; Ulrica (fortune teller): Marie-Nicole Lemieux; Oscar (page): Ilia Staple.
